I have had a bad experience with my stbxh (soon to be ex H) but I don't think it was pathological lying....but it definitely is LYING.

He would do things without telling me when it came to our finances. When he was asked a question he would answer with what he thought people wanted to hear or what he said he thought was the truth when it was as far from the truth as black from white......it kept getting worse & worse as the years went by.....I finally left him after 33 years (yep, that wasn't one of my smartest moves)......the IRS sent him a letter about back taxes he owed.....he didn't even bother to tell me or to call the IRS to find out what the problem was.....he just ignored it & never bothered to say a word to me....I luckily had all the mail forwarded to my farm 2100 miles away that winter & that was when I got the letter from the IRS.......then he stopped making payments on the proterty taxes & the house payment without saying a word to me & when I confronted him about it.....he ignored talking to me & told me he had talked with the lender about a loan modification....when I talked to the lender....they had never even talked to him at all....ever about anything to do with the loan or his non-payment. Hmmmmmm....looking at it.....I could almost say that he was a pathological lyer as there wasn't much of anything he didn't lie about one way of another.......it will be interesting to see what others have to say.
