How absolutely wonderful, KimmyDawn. You're right, it does take hard work -- and brings much joy. I heard somewhere in my journey that we have to use the tribulations of marriage (or anything) to "perfect ourself on the other person." Meaning to grow past and through our shortcomings and defects.
