I took prazosin and it made my blood pressure super low, so I felt crappy all the time. I don't remember if it helped with the nightmares, but that is why my pdoc gave it to me. So now they're back again. They're weird, too. Usually they're terrifying social situations that turn crazy and terrifying, and I jolt awake and sit up and am covered in sweat. I hate it. I avoid going to sleep because of it. Not like it matters, because I end up lying there awake if I try to fall asleep. It's 2:30 am right now. Early still. :-) I'm watching some stupid jail police show on tv, kinda. I have DID, and PTSD, so nighttime can be hard. So I understand what you're going through. If you don't have low blood pressure to start, prazosin might work for you. It's actually a beta blocker, usually for treating blood pressure. It's an old drug, so it's generic and cheap.
