Hi.
Sometimes if we are depressed, everything looks bleak. Its true that people tend to turn away from others who see the negative in everything. Emotions are contagious, and they don't want to be dragged down into a bad mood.
Think of being at a grocery store. If the checkout person is in an up mood, it makes you feel better. If they are grumpy and look like they would prefer to be anywhere but there, it rubs off on you.
The best way I know how to change your outlook is to try and remember that when you are dealing with people, keep whatever negative thoughts you have to yourself. Smile, even if you don't feel like it. There is a time and place to let out your negative feelings, this forum being one. I think you will find that if you put forth a positive outlook, even if you don't feel that way, people will again gravitate to you. Its not easy, that isn't what I'm saying, but there is a link between what you do and the way people treat you. Sometimes it even changes your attitude. You start to believe your own "faked" optimism.
