I do think that is one of the reasons that people wind up literally putting themselves back into depression. Although the depression was horrible and always eating at you, at least you knew what was going on. Since you don't have experience with the transition, it may feel unsafe and the thought of no longer being depressed is scarey.

I think for me it hits both on the way into and out of major depression... I hate it.
