90% of life is your outlook. I am not really a pessimist, I consider myself a realist. Nothing is ever perfect, and nothing is ever as bad as it could be. It can always be better just as it can always be worse. Once you accept that - the next step is trying to see the good in life and have a better outlook.

I was heartbroken and going insane over a girl for well over a year. It was bad. I SI'ed, I didn't speak to anyone. I walked around like a zombie. Finally, one more time I tried to contact her. We actually got back together, and not long after she decided she didn't want me anymore. I asked her about it, and she told me it was over for good. I went to bed crying. Woke up with a whole new attitude. I just decided life wasn't so bad, and I literally underwent a change that happened overnight. I was really elated for a while. Always joking and happy. It took a couple of months and I came back down to earth. Now things aren't wonderful, but they aren't horrible either.

It's all about the outlook. And yes, sometimes it can be easy to just snap your fingers and change your outlook. You just have to ask yourself, is it worth it to have the attitude you have right now? If it isn't, only you can change it.
