This may not be exactly what you are asking for but there is a famous essay by Ferenczi on how the victim relates to the persecutor, and sometimes identifies with them. It was important because at the time that phenomenon had not been explored at all and was very curious to understand. This was pretty particular to children, who want love so compromise to get it even if it actually puts them in a worse position. Ferenczi was a famous analyst so I'm sure this was based on working with adult patients who had internalized the victim role and on top of it that of the aggressor so was a challenge to the therapist who was called upon to be an emotional rescuer.
