That's just the thing. For me, it's not about the germs. A certain amount of germs can even make you stronger. For me, it's about personal boundaries. I don't like people breathing on my food either although I've never heard of anyone getting sick by someone else's breath on their food except for a rare case such as tuberculosis. Also, I don't like when a cook uses their fingers instead of a wooden spoon to scrape rice from one bowl to another bowl. For me, it's just a matter of manners. I also don't like when the cook's hairy arms rub the food as they're making it (which has happened at Subway) even though I don't think the arm hair will actually become attached to the food or transmit germs to the food. Another thing I don't like at restaurants is when the food is left standing unattended for flies to land on before it's taken out to the customers. Again, I'm not worried about the germs. I just think it's unappetizing.
