My aunt changed her first name because she didn't like it/didn't like her mother who'd named her, etc. It's a fee to change it leagally and can be a bit of a hassle to change it in all the legal forms, governments, credit cards, post office, schools, etc. I agree though that it's a great idea if it makes you feel better and encourages you. One of the people I admire is my great grandmother but I merely named my cat after her :-)
