Seriously though, I know what you're describing. I've felt like the odd one out most of my life. I just don't get certain things when it comes to social norms and custom's, what others find acceptable behavior, ect.

For the most part I've become comfortable with my quirkiness but there are those days...

As for the "How to" advice, I think most of those books/articles fail to take into account that many ADDer's lack the motivation and/or the sticking-to-it power that is required to put that type of advice to good use. Motivation in people with ADHD works differently than it does in neurotypicals. Have you tried reading anything written specifically for people with ADHD? Arwen__78 has been reading some of these, perhaps she can offer a review of some titles?
