Hi Jennifer -- One idea I have is to link the club name to the school mascot.

Another thought I have is to keep the word "lit" or literature out of the name. It's a yawner. Art is more exciting, especially when its pop art or alternative art.

Perhaps you could get the idea of adventue into the name???

Art and Word Safari?

WordArt Safari?

ArtWord Bound (pun on Outward Bound adventures)

I'm also wondering if you could identity a purpose. For example, sometimes we associate esthetic exploration with the heart or soul. One organization that sponsors crafts workshops calls itself Art and Soul.

I love the word bohemian, because it conjures up the black-clad beatniks of my youth in smoking jazz cafes, thumping bongo drums and reading poetry. I don't know if the word bohemian resonates with your generation. It could be shortened to make the group the 'bos -- As in Jazz 'bos. Which sounds kind of good, but you didn't mention music, rather books and art.

You might hold a contest with a cash prize to name the group to pique interest. I'd make sure that I had a very strong mission statement and a list of at least 4 upcoming events, be they book discussions, trip to an art gallery, PowerPoint slide show of someone's art, or even a getting-to-know you mixer, so that you would be presenting the group as active and dynamic, rather than a vague idea.

I hope this helps.
