This absolutely happened to me. I went to the drug store and got big band aids the 4 inch by 4 inch ones and covered the cuts on my thighs. When the nurse came in the prep me for surgery I explained the band aids and asked if I could keep them on. She said that since the surgery was a hysterectomy and not on my thighs that it should be fine.
