Yes, a gift (though after the holidays once I've taken a trip abroad) and it will be something small and something symbolic of our relationship. In fact, if I don't find anything, I'm OK with not giving her a gift. I don't think I'll get her a card because I got her cards a couple of times this year--our anniversary date, her birthday--and we email regularly so I write to her a lot already. This is the 4th holidays season that we've being working together and I have gotten her a small gift (all from trips) each of the last 3 years. She got me a gift the last 2 years I recall (though one was for my dissertation defense, which was 2 weeks before Christmas).
