I have a huge amount of coping skills I use. Sleep, stress reduction and a healthy diet are vital. You need to find out what works best for you. It could take years - it took me years, but now bipolar-wise I am going great.

I am only now starting to get the good effects from meditation but it took a long time. Mindfulness has been really helpful too - focus on the now, the moment right now and nothing else. Sometimes its still hard to do but the more I do it the easier it becomes. Also being organised helps with my stress levels. For me large amounts of alcohol is bad, small amounts, no problems.
