Wellbutrin is known to be activating. I've been on Prozac and found it aggravated my anxiety really badly. But then I was also on Lamictal at the time, too. Lamictal was activating for me. The combination of Lamictal and Prozac eventually sent me over the edge. I dropped those two and started on Wellbutrin (regular formulation, not extended release). The Wellbutrin is working pretty well as an antidepressant so far but is severely aggravating the tinnitus in my left ear. I may have to drop the Wellbutrin as tinnitus can be a precursor to hearing loss, and I already have moderate-severe hearing loss in both ears. I'm super-sensitive to medications, so I'm not sure how much my experience can apply to yours...
