When I want to talks about something but feel that my T will take the control or that at the end I will be a coward and change the topic, I say at the begining of thes session e.g. today I would like to discuss two small issues about... And then one important problem about...
Then T knows that he should not change the topic till he hears three different stories... Sometimes I say also that I feel like an idiot to talk about it right now because I do not feel like last week anymore or something similar...
Maybe it would work also for you (?)
