Are you familiar with the notion that, for some folks, what appears to be bipolar disorder may be a kind of spiritual awakening? I don't know about it myself, I don't have bipolar, but I have had dissociation and believe that our minds are far more complex than we give them credit for being when everything is working smoothly.
