i am very anti-dishonesty - but I would probably opt for the "it was an accident" or "I was moving something awkward/heavy that cut me" type excuse.

It is one reason I only cut in places that CAN be covered. I hate, hate, HATE myself if I lie. I am going for 1000000% honesty all the time.
