I want to train our dog to stay out of our kitchen when there are people in there cooking; she gets right at your feet.

I got upset the other day because I spoke to my mom about that and she said "Do you understand that I don't care that she is in the kitchen when I am cooking."

I had told her I do not want her to get stepped on so I want her to learn to not be in this kitchen when others are working. She kept saying " Do you understand that I think completely different than you and I won't change it."

I do not know what to do now because to train a dog others need to do the same because our dog is so confused when I ask her to leave the kitchen. I do not want her to get stepped on. My mom and others in the past have stepped on her because she gets right at your feet and if others continue to tell her to not be there, she would be trained to listen and not be there.

My mom seems to want her own way and spoils the dog quite often. I understand she is a dog though you need to train them to become better trained dogs. I know our dog is smart enough for her age to still be trained but not when others do the opposite.

I guess have a talk with my mom again if that is possible. She doesn't seem to listen, it goes completely out the other ear. Maybe it would be best for me to tell her that is one of my main reasons into moving out is because of that behavior. She behaves like a little kid and I get irritated. It would be better for myself in the long run too considering I have complained about her on here in the past.

Does anybody have any other suggestions on the issue here?
