Chewing gum helps me the most. It's something I can do with my mouth that doesn't require eating or drinking nonstop, although those are options as well. Also...try to keep busy until the worst of it is over. Once the cravings calm down and your body adjusts it'll be easier to relax and slow things down. This is what works for me.
