Yes, I have found that all behavior has a reason behind it. Identifying your feelings is important, as well as why you feel that way. Usually when feelings are really intense, there is more involved than just the current situation. There is probably some connection to what has happened in the past and how you have learned (or not learned) to handle similar situations. Once you can make that connection, and let yourself feel what you are feeling (writing about it often helps), it gets easier to manage the feelings.
