I have a friend with IBS and she has never mentioned about going out, just that her intestines hurt a lot. She is still being diagnosed. From what you tell me, I would think your reaction might be normal, but needs controlling. I mean if I had to always be careful when and where I could eat without worrying, then it seems the normal reaction at home would be to eat heartily. I notice when I have a day where I starve myself, not with intention, but just being busy and drinking coffee or tea, I will overcompensate. Example: yesterday I didn't have lunch or dinner and I had 5 cinnamon rolls staring st me in the fridge. well, they weren't staring too long until I ate them. For me this was an isolated incident. These were goodies left over from a party and the opportunity presented itself. I let myself get hungry. But today I drove my Krispy Kreme and wnated to go in, but kept on driving. I was also hungry, but instead I just made salad with tuna. I feel much better. Anyway to get to the point, if it seems to be an isolated incident, then it might not be as serious, but if your weight is constantly fluctuating and it happens on a regular basis, then seek some help otherwise. Luck to you.
