I absolutely bucked the idea of being "labeled" BPD. I had been previously diagnosed bi-polar, mostly because my mother has severe and untreated bi-polar. I never treated the bi-polar because I knew that wasn't it. Just 18 months ago I was reading an email my mother in law sent to my wife about BPD. The email was sent to her out of concern for me. That email changed my life. I received about 1 year of DBT therapy at Ohio State University (near where I live), and it has worked wonders for my marriage and life in general.
