Exactly. I dealt with this for 13+ years. My stepson was 4 when I met him. He is like 19 or 20 now and never did I gain his respect. His mother never backed me up and did this exact thing and for 13+ years it remained a battle. We are apart now but now her son, my former stepson has not talked to me in 3 years.
It won't change unless your bf does something. period.
