In Sweden, mothers take 15 months' leave and fathers 4 months, on average. Most guys I know who have kids have taken 6 to 12 months. So no, not tied to it being a female therapist at all, not everywhere in the world.

That being said, four weeks is a considerable break in therapy, and I'm really sorry you have to experience this. Is there a backup T you can contact if you need to?
