Herpes can be very dangerous to an infant (according to WebMD...you should check them out), but that's if SHE gets it. Otherwise, it's fine.

Do be careful to avoid sexual contact while you're having an outbreak...that's about all I can offer, unfortunately. Herpes isn't something I'm incredibly well versed in.

I would advise you talk to your doctor about how to practice safely. In the mean time, this might be of some help, but please don't let it scare you. The CDC tends to be rather...blunt.
