"General coping" means how well you are able to deal with all the things you have to do in life, such as work, shopping, taking care of where you live, taking care of yourself, and so on.
"Dissociation" means when someone is no longer thinking about where they are but are feeling they are in another place/no longer aware of what is happening in real life. Multiple personality disorder (DID) is the extreme version of this situation.
