I think of my kindle as a break from "technology" because a. The browser is worthless and b. it isn't back lit which seems to be a big part of the problem to me. It's like it sucks you in like a magnet. I am referring to the ereader not the fire of course.

I think a technology fast is a great idea. Somebody told me a friend of hers did it with her family for a month and it was great. No cable, no computer, no nothing. My career is sometimes overwhelmed with computer work so I HAVE to take a break at home or I go crazy. My online self disappears at these times. Good luck!
