Greg, that's wonderful news! It does sound like the prudent course of action is to keep looking for something else, but at least you can look with a job, instead of having to just find a paycheck.

It seems that the current business model is constant and unrelenting insecurity for employees. I don't know what business genius decided that was a good way to get people to perform.
