I think i saw this on dr phil or The Closer or something recently. Where the client's partner wanted to tell the t what the client should be working on!! The t has no professional obligation to the partner - the partner is not the t's client. But the t did tell the client that the partner contacted the t and everything the partner said.
I think it's like in court when they say, the person on the witness stand "opened the door" by offering the information.
