I can relate to the non-stop mental chatter and overwhelming emotions. I am a constant over thinker. What I like to do is when I am alone, is allow myself to feel the feelings. I believe that if you don't let yourself get your emotions out, then you won't get anywhere. Writing what you are feeling is a good way to release some emotion and get them out. No matter how hard it is to feel things, it is a lot safer and better than doing something dangerous. Meditation is also a great coping method.
