They are not the same med - Lexapro is a stronger version of Celexa (citaprolam). Both are available though as some people do well with Lexapro and others do well on Celexa. I've taken both and didn't particularly care for either. At least for me, Lexapro is the most potent ssri (except Zoloft which I didn't tolerate well) and takes effect faster. Celexa did absolutely nothing for me.
