I tend to live my life in such a way I have attainable short term goals more than a ton of long term goals.... I was told by a doctor when I was 17 that I would be dead by the age of 30 from medical issues... I am 54 now. Even so, I know my medical issues cuold suddenly take me to heaven at any time so I live with all my affairs in order at all times and make plans towards what I want to accomplish both in my personality and in my life in up to 1 year increments.

I applaud your desire to join the Marine Corps and also to become a chef. Perhaps you can be a chef in the marine corps even.

If you have aptitude at gaming, go for it... maybe you can make great new games that don't have tons of violence. Things like Tetris have gone over big just as much as the violence games have. Not everyone wants tons of violence in their games.
