I will never forget my husband proposing to me. I thought we were going out to dinner with business clients but when we got to the restaurant it was empty. I still did not realise anything. He had paid to clear out the restaurant for a few hours. There was a single rose on the table. He then immediately dropped to his knee. He proceeded to toss the ring under the table he was so nervous. He didn't ask me to marry him, he asked me to be his wife. He is not a romantic man really so this is a memory I cherish. My entire family knew this was happening. It still amazes me that he kept it a secret. He even asked my mother's blessing and had one of her rings modified to look exactly like one I had admired.

Then last year he was away from home for about a week. When he called one evening he asked me to go outside and look at the sky to see the same stars he was seeing. (It was overcast and I couldn't see any stars) but just his gesture meant the world. Subsequently, I visited the same place he was at when he made that phone call. I cannot share this next memory on-line but it involves those same stars!!
