I was doing some more investigating to get my computer to work for dial-up internet again, and I think I (almost) have the answer! I think that all I need is a missing winsock file. I checked the Windows CD that my ex gave me a short while ago (the wrong version of Win 98, of course ) but it's not on there. I think I can still find it someplace else, so I'm going to try that.
