I really understand the not wanting to be admitted against your will. But something is happening that is making you desperate enough to reach out to a hospital. I think the idea listed above about talking to an ER Social Worker is a good idea. Psych wards aren't great, but if they suggest you sign yourself in, then I recommend you do that. If you voluntarily go in, you can be released sooner than you would be if you were involuntarily put in. Voluntarily or not, they cannot medicate you or do anything to you without your permission unless you are a physical threat, I believe. Take Care and good luck.
