Yes, this has happened to me when trying to fall asleep. ,I heard two men talking so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I believe it is called a hypnagogic hallucination, and is not that uncommon. My pdoc says if it happens only when you are falling asleep,or just waking up then it is not psychosis.
