I don't do it. Although I did just deactivate my FB account. I do temporarily activate it from time to time. It has people from my family, my time in school, work, and other personal things that could be used to track me down through "friends" if the person and I were to not have the same boundaries or have a falling out.
If it were a made up account without people from my real life and without my real name, then I would consider it. I just don't see the point to setting up such an account to supplement what can be done through PMs and things on this site.
BTW, I did have a horrible experience with having a couple of FB "friends" whom I moderated with at another board. I had known them online and through skype conversations for quite a long time. When we no longer saw eye to eye, they turned on me and tried to drag family, friends, and co-workers into the fray. I would say CAUTION is essential when you have no real world experience with a person.
