I went out yesterday to a beading class. I made a bracelet. I was feeling kind of foolish, because I drove halfway across the state to this class (for reasons too dull to go into here). But I started talking about my interest in studying agriculture. The shop owner came over and told me her husband has contacts in the School of Agriculture. She said she'd refer me to them. Maybe they'll help set me up with some kind of employment that will help me get through school - and get me useful experience.
Just interesting how you can make connections accidently, with no thought that, for example, a beading class might lead to professional contacts.
