I get SSI...have been since 1997 when a wonderful social worker helped to save my life. I don't even know if she knows how much she helped me.. I get state aid to help pay for my meds which totaled over 7 thousand dollars last year.... but I made the mistake of working for a few months last year...which was a fiasco and I ended up in hospital due to all the problems...and them BAM...the state goes and takes away 50% of my help...because I worked....feel like I am between a rock and hard place, as my insulin was just added and that costs almost 500 bucks a month...do not know how I will make it through this year. I did appeal and the state said they would watch my med bills and step in and help if it was needed but would not change their ruling til next year....but disability help, though not that much money has helped me to survive this long...and I do appreciate it...even though it is an uphill fight...I got to do it!!! Stay the fight...keep the faith...take care now.
