If you work ODSP will deduct half of your pay after $200. The only time they won't do this is if you are a student. This makes it very hard for people who want to get off. If you leave the program and need to return they will "rapidly reinstate" you only if you meet certain conditions.

It is hard to get off of AISH, it took my husband almost a year to convince them that he could work again.
I have found that medical care in Alberta has been superior to what I could access in Ontario (grew up in Whitby and went to Trent before moving out here). The wait times don't even seem as bad as they are there. We lived in Peterborough for a year after my dad died, it was so hard to get any mental health assistance.
