I went through menopause in just over a year. It hit right after I moved from Calif to KY, so initially I was blaming it on the humid hot summer weather.....but then it went away & never came back. I had problems with anorexia right at the time my periods stopped anyway, so couldn't tell what was causing what.....but didn't bother to do to the MD because by that time I had no money & even with medicare couldn't afford anything more than the nothing care I had chosen.

I had no idea how bad some women's menopause can be & how many years it lasts. Guess I really had it lucky as I wasn't about to take any hormones for anything.

The one thing I had with some of my meds was a temp that ran 99.9 for almost a year. It was miserable because I would get that hot feeling of having a temp (a little different than the sweating with menopause). My body went through so much during those years of pdocs experimenting with different meds.....I don't think my body knew whether it was coming or going & add anorexia issues to that.

Think it's worth while to have hormone level's checked as they can really wack out the body if they are not right
