I've had carpol tunnel in both wrists since high school (I'm 23). In August, I fell and a ganglion cyst emerged. It grew big and hurt. I wore my splint for 2 months and reduced in size and hurt less. A called a nurse and she said that they probably wouldn't do anything about it if I came in. A couple of weeks ago, I slipped in the ice and now it's grown a little and really hurts. Zipping up a dress, turning a stubborn door knob, or lifting a heavy bag causes pain. I wear the splint when I can, but it's hard to do my work with it (most of my work is on a computer). Is there anything I can do? Will a doctor help me?
Also, though I have some of the symptoms, ESP when I am stressed, I tested negatively for hyperthyroidism 2 years ago (though I was close to the edge). Could my bad tendons have anything to do with a higher thyroid level? I suffered from tendonititus in my hip and knee in high school too. Could this be a dietary thing?
I'm broke and I don't want to see a doctor unless they can actually help me. Ive already spent so much money on thyroid blood tests, galbladder apointments (the cause was never determined), and Pdoc bills.
