I've been doing it as long as I can think of and I constantly do it all the time. When no one is home I talk to myself out loud and even answer the questions that I'm asking, pretending that someone else is actually there with me and is answering them. To some degree I believe that someone who I talk to is around me even though I know he doesn't exist.
So what do you guys think?

I actually found somewhere, that people who talk to themselves have been found to be more intelligent. I think you could probably look that up online somewhere.
Personally though I did not start doing it, until I was isolated.
I find when I talk to myself. Its because I was without talking to another person. I think the brain is just telling us we need to communicate with others. I think the more intelligent one is, the more they will speak to themselves because there is less thinkers out there today that could hold conversation with us. We are just reasoning out loud with ourselves.
Personally for me, I just make it a joke answering myself. Even asking myself out loud questions. My philosophy is, is because I do not know anyone really sound enough that could give me the right answer. LOL
Its all in fun though...
I think its much like the others are saying. Its reasoning out loud. ...and I think it happens mostly when we are more alone, or not around people who we can actually reason with or communicate with.
but yea...I think its normal...and I also think its an intelligent thing.
