Mercedes, I am so sorry. Do you want to go back home really or do you prefer to stay where you are? You can do either one, you know. You do have a choice! Maybe the plane tickets are cashable? I hate it when men make us change our lives. I've had two divorces when very young, so I've been through that and more.
Is there someone at work who you could possibly get a daily ride from? Is your dad and stepmom's place a supportive location for you? Do you have supportive friends there?

Taking the cats was so nasty of him. It is obvious that he was not meant for you. Whatever you do, make sure you have a good pdoc and therapist.
