i agree with kaliope. you should mention to him, even though he is stubborn, that his drinking is taking over his life. plant the good seed and let him know there is help out there too. i wish i could stop you from going further in this relationship, if he won't go for help, as i've had several alcoholic boyfriends, what a waste of time!!! it sooner or later may escalate and become very bad before it gets better if it even does get better.
