"
As long as I am alive and able to function, I will be your therapist; I will not abandon you...
One of my mentors believed that when we work with someone long term, we become their "Therapist for Life." I am committed to being yours"
"I enjoy working with you immensely and am very proud of the progress you have made and your faithfulness to the process."
"Yes, I do have a motherly love for you, an acceptance of you just as you are; hopefully I am being your 'Good Enough Mother.'"
"You are not and will not be too much for me; I am always here for you even when you have a sinking feeling that I may not be. I will not leave you."
I also recall her saying what an honor it was to work with me and how the therapy relationship is sacred and that she's thought I was brave and strong and making amazing progress.
P.S. I had to add/echo what a couple others said above: she has said sorry to me when it was hard for her to do, and I felt a great respect and commitment from her for doing that. She's also said sorry for coming up short and such, and it just shows her devotion. Sometimes I can hardly believe we have this relationship, sometimes I call her my Fairy Godmother.
