Anarki, cutting carbs and exercising is an excellent way to help yourself. I'm not a medical,professional, but when I was taught in diabetes classes, if you had no problem at all, you would never get as high as 124. But even if you may be pre-diabetic, the tingling and stuff probably isn't from that as one normally only gets those symptoms when not under tight control for a while and a diabetic.
If you are also unsure, go to doctor for an HbA1c. It will give you about a three month average of your blood sugar levels.
It's never to late to have a good diet and exercise. Take care.
