Wow, craving carbs might have to do with your seratonin/dopamine levels. That information might actually help your prescriber. I would be hesitant trying to add natural remedies (eg SAM-E) because it would essentially be self medicating on top of what you are taking. Stopping your meds on top of that could be disastrous. Depending on your dr they might be able to suggest and that would be different. Traditional dr's just add another med.
You could also look into your gut. Start with BeyondMeds.com and google "weston foundation diet". The "gut" diet Monica talks about is super hard but the Weston diet is almost instinctual. I found that doing the "Colorado Cleanse" which is really a modified aruyvedic cleanse really help. It is also hard so I have yet to do it again but I need to.
Yes, the meds can also cause Chronic Brain Impairment. You might be very observant. I am more than a little concerned about this too. For more on this look up Peter Breggin. There is a long chapter on it in his withdrawal book. (Amazon).
