We prep by having lots of kerosene, lots of batteries, lots of blankets, do all of the laundry, make sure there is plenty of bottled water, candles, lighters, cash (atms won't work, banks are closed), fill vehicles with gas, fill rx's, portable pet supplies, dried goods/easy to prep goods, etc. We have a "hurricane kit" as do most people here.

I meant to say something yesterday when you answered me. I know how to prep for a hurricane and the heat, but the cold? Eek. At least the cold showers are a little easier to bear during the blazing summer/fall, but winter? No thank you! I believe I'd rather stink!
